That would be seven live children in the 1840 census.

In the 1830 Census in Delaware Co. Ny He has one son and two daughters born 1825-1830. These census match.

There is also a census in Branch County, MI for a David Worden in 1840...

In this census there are: one male and 1 female 0-5 yrs, 1 male and 1 female 5-10, 1 male and 2 female 10-15,

There appears to be a son born between 1830-35 missing or counted wrong in the census. But another son was added after Mary in the 1835-40 census. This would total the 8 that Pat has, but the sex would be wrong on one of hers. (Copy of what I am talking about is attached)

This means that they had three sons and four daughters in 1840.......The records on David that Pat Worden has shows 8 children. I have 7 children but four sons, three daughters...

The David C. Worden I have found and am not sure if he is a son was on a census in 1850 for Macomb Couty, Michigan with a James and Hannah Conges. He is listed as David C. Worden, Age 17, Clerk. born in NY. The only other David Worden in the families appears to be a son of Asahel born in 1845 in NY.

Also in 1840 census in Michigan, David and Hulda are accompanied by 2 males 15-20 yrs, and 2 males 20-30 years old, one male 30-40 and one female 60-70 years old. Probably brothers and perhaps her mother or his...

Worden homestead on Palmer Hill, Andes, NY. shows the way Ira bought the homestead parcel by parcel. The homestead was then passed on to his heirs and finally owned by Roland Worden. Present owner (2000) is William Ruff who is the son of Mabel and Fred Ruff and still part of the Worden family. Palmer hill has an outstanding panoramic view of the Catskills.

Ben and wife Martha came to IL in 1838. He was one of the first settlers in DeKalb County. They had another son, Martin or Mahaly, that died young.

From the History of DeKalb County, (1868): Ben Worden settled in South Grove in 1841; in 1840, Ben lived near Brodie's Grove (6 miles south of South Grove) and slept in the barn with his horses, so not to be stolen. He was later befriended by Brodie, who happened to be the head of a gang of horse theives, and Ben was assured that his horses would not be stolen. In 1836, Ben had travelled thru Mayfield, IL with 2 french ponies, bought for $130.00 in Michigan

Notes for ANNA A. LLOYD:
Faissler.....Anna's obituary says she was one of ten children of John Lloyd who cme from Wales to DeKalb Co. Other sources say there were six children. Anna became a resident of DeKalb Co in 1858. She later married Stephen and lived on his farm in South Grove until his death in 1915. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Malta and remained there until about 1925 when she moved to Sycamore where she lived with Mrs. Decker. A short time before her death, she went to her daughter;'s Mrs. Quincer, home in Malta, from there she went to the hospital where she died.[Fawcett.FTW]

Faissler.....Anna's obituary says she was one of ten children of John Lloyd who came from Wales to DeKalb Co. Other sources say there were six children. Anna became a resident of DeKalb Co in 1858. She later married Stephen and lived on his farm in South Grove until his death in 1915. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Malta and remained there until about 1925 when she moved to Sycamore where she lived with Mrs. Decker. Sycamore True Republican 2/8/1928 states that the funeral services were held for members of the family at the Richard Butler home and for friends and neighbors at Malta Methodist church.

Through email rusureb4@juno.com dated 9/21/2002 Roger says: Edith Butler is my Grandmother - mother of my father. Anna and Stephen are her parents. Walter Worden who administered his father's will was Grandma's brother - a nice guy-went to his funeral in Rockford in 1959 as I recall. His wife, Nellie did a painting of Old Ben that hangs in the home of the daughter Alice Parrish, daughter of Clarence. I have a good photo of 4 of Stephen and Anna's 5 children. Aunt Blanche Quincer had not yet been born. It is circa 1889/90. The eldest son, John, died shortly thereafter. But, that bearded guy is, I'm told. Old Ben. He had a son Ben, as you know that had 2 wives. someone told me he was messing around with his housekeeper with whom he had another child. (That's son Ben). Clarence W had another daughter, Elsie. Still living I think. Her daughter, Cheryl Albert was the source of much of the material I have on the Worden's.
